Economic Justice

This campaign works to make sure people on public assistance get their rights including:

  • organizing with homeless people for a better sheltering system
  • defending families falsely accused by DSS
  • helping people fight for better housing
  • leading organizers in fighting for and winning a change to the system of electing city councilors and School Committee members- so that people of color and working people can elect representatives from their own neighborhoods
  • organizing voter registration drives
  • working to protect the voting rights of al people, including ex-felons

“Digital Divide” Computer Education

This campaign works by maintaining our office and public access computers and also:

  • Teaching about email and the internet
  • Creating and maintaining list serves so people can communicate with each other

Free School

Uses education to empower individuals:

  • Arise members are the teachers and learners of organizing
  • anti- racism and other workshops

Peace with Solidarity and Anti-Violence

Works to educate the community about the waging wars abroad by:

  • Educating the community about the wastefulness of war
  • Making connections between organizers in the U.S and abroad
  • Working for labor rights and justice at home and across the borders
  • Organizing to educate about globalization
  • Founding SHaRC- the Statewide Harm Reduction Coalition which works to stop the construction of new prisons in MA
  • Working to promote syringe access for drug users
  • Promoting education on the harmful affect of the so-called “War on Drugs” on our communitycalled “War on Drugs” on our community
